Presentation of the study on conditions of children transport on motorcycles at OISEVI

Florencia Lambrosquini, the Fundación´s Research Department Coordinator was in charge of presenting the study conducted in 45 cities from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Dominincan Republic and Uruguay.

Said unprecedented study was presented for the first time in Uruguay on May 8, 2017, within the context of the Global Road Safety Week together with representatives from the World Bank, CAF - Latin America Development Bank, PAHO/WHO and the Road Safety National Agency (UNASEV).

The Fundación keeps working in the coordination of all stakeholders involved in the study and governments in the region to have it presented in each of the participating countries.

Aiming at halving the number of deaths and injuries caused by road crashes by 2020 - goal set by the United Nations as part of the Sustainable Development Goals-, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez together with the World Bank, the CAF- Latin America Development Bank, the UPS Foundation and OISEVI, conducted this study as a first direct approximation to the issue. This work, supported by the National Road Safety Agency and carried out through FACTUM, aims at the creation of a knowledge base in the medium term to improve the conditions in which children travel on motorcycles. .

The Ibero-American Road Safety Observatory is an international cooperation instrument composed by the highest road safety authorities of Ibero-American member states.
