Hundreds of children and adults lived the virtual experience "Travel to the future, safely"

During the winter holidays, from July 2 to 8, Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez, with the support of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Uruguay, carried out the action " Travel to the future, safely" at Montevideo Shopping. This activity, which is aimed at adults and children of school age, seeks to raise awareness about the risk involved in transporting children in a car without the proper retention system.

Although in Uruguay the use of child restraint systems is mandatory by law for all children traveling in private vehicles until they reach 1.5 meters in height, according to the latest Road Safety Observational Behavior Study conducted by FACTUM in coordination with UNASEV and with the support of Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez, 3 out of 4 children do not use it. And only 3.2% of children between 6 and 12 years old use it.

In "Travel to the future, safely", the experience of adults is divided in two. First, they experience, through virtual reality, a traffic accident with a child passenger without CRS to face the situation to which children would be exposed to a slight shock in case of not traveling in a booster. And later, you can see how the consequences change if you use this child restraint system correctly.

In parallel, the children enjoy an experiential virtual tour perceiving a harmonious landscape while they are transferred safely in a booster, generating in this way a positive association with the use of this safety measure.
