Committed to Global Road Safety

In May and in the context of Yellow May, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez carried out three training and awareness-raising child road safety activities.

The first activity took place at the Check Up event jointly implemented by Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez and the Automobile Club of Uruguay. In this activity technicians from the Fundación verify and provide advice on the correct installation of Child Restraint Systems (CRS) free of charge, thus promoting the safe transport of children.

Other activities took place in the morning of Thursday, 26 of May at the National Insurance Bank parking lot. In this area the Fundación´s Training Department advised employees on the correct installation of Child Restraint Systems (child seats).

As part of the last activity conducted by the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez within the context of Yellow May, two presentations were organized together with the Uruguayan Book Chamber for the Children´s Book Fair; school and high school students were given information on road crash prevention at the event. Marcelo Alborés, Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez´s technician, provided advice and recommendations regarding our different roles as road users, as pedestrians or occupants of different vehicles.

The Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez considers the Yellow May Movement an opportunity to reflect on and raise awareness about the need to improve road users´ behaviors, something that will reduce the number of dead and injured in road crashes.
