Traffic Police officers, municipality staff and risk prevention officers from the National Insurance Bank (BSE) will be trained in Child Passenger Safety

Within the context of the “Child Passenger Safety” National Program, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez will provide training in child safe mobility to the National Traffic Police Department (DNPT) from November 27 to December 1.

This course will be the last of a series of training sessions conducted in the provinces during 2018. Activities were held in Canelones, Florida, Paysandú, Rivera and Rocha; the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez signed agreements with each of these provincial governments to generate safe mobility actions.

In this opportunity participants will include, staff members from these municipalities, traffic police officers from the DNPT and risk prevention officers from the BSE.

The activity will finish on Saturday, December 1, providing free-of-charge advice to adults interested in the right installation of child and booster seats.

Children are one of the most vulnerable populations in our society, it is fundamental to protect their lives by the promotion of the correct use of safety measures.

Through the “Child Passenger Safety” National Program, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez, with the support of the BSE, has spent the last two years working in coordination with provincial governments providing training sessions and setting up Check Up points to promote the use of safety measures when transporting children.

Along these lines, we started working with the DNPT 11 years ago, carrying out activities for the promotion of safe child mobility in Uruguay in order to reach the goal of zero child injury or death in road crashes.
