{"id":37824,"date":"2021-05-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gonzalorodriguez.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/5a8aa084e8f98f7bb1044b54f4d5a341f7ebd674.jpg"},"modified":"2025-08-05T17:51:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:51:16","slug":"el-rol-legislativo-para-una-movilidad-segura-y-saludable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gonzalorodriguez.org\/en\/noticias\/el-rol-legislativo-para-una-movilidad-segura-y-saludable\/","title":{"rendered":"The legislative role for safe and healthy mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>On 20 May, with the support of PAHO\/WHO, we held the online seminar &#8220;The role of legislators for safe and sustainable mobility&#8221;, to raise awareness of the key role of legislators in developing mobility with special emphasis on road safety.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which took place at the Legislative Palace, featured speakers Alejandro Draper, President of UNASEV; Wilson Benia, PAHO\/WHO consultant on health systems and services; Mar\u00eda Eugenia Keller, PAHO\/WHO national advisor on road safety and sustainable mobility; Britta Baer, regional advisor on violence and injuries; Ram\u00f3n Ledesma, PONS advisor on road safety; Alejandro Morlachetti, PAHO\/WHO legal and human rights advisor; and Mar\u00eda Fernanda Rodr\u00edguez, President of the Fundaci\u00f3n Gonzalo Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is an honour to be here today in the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament, where we have discussed the need to lower the speed limit in urban environments to 30 km\/h.
