The 1st CIPSEVI gathered Road Safety, Child Mobility and Road Safety Education leaders to analyze how to deal with one of the biggest problems in the XXI Century: road crashes.<\/p>\n
The Fundaci\u00f3n Gonzalo Rodr\u00edguez, through its Training and Institutional Relations Coordinator, Math\u00edas Silva, made a presentation on \u201cTraining Enforcers from an Educational Role\u201d on Panel I \u201cRoad Safety Education as a Strategy for Cultural Change\u201d.<\/p>\n
Silva explained the active role by the Fundaci\u00f3n in the implementation of the Act requiring the use of Child Restraint Systems in private cars in Uruguay and highlighted the importance of Training as one of the main lines of action of the Fundaci\u00f3n\u00b4s work.<\/p>\n
In this sense, Silva described the experience of the Fundaci\u00f3n in training enforcers from the National Traffic Police and inspectors from provincial governments. He also talked about training provided to the general public at the Check Up Point, a service free of charge on the correct installation of Child Restraint Systems.<\/p>\n
Other presenters on the panel were: Violeta Manso P\u00e9rez, Traffic General Department; Jes\u00fas Moncl\u00fas, Fundaci\u00f3n Mapfre; Gabriela Rosende, Road Safety National Commission; Araceli Gonz\u00e1lez, Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica Nacional (Argentina) and member of Traffic Psychology International; Bienvenido Nieto G\u00f3mez, President of the State Federation of Road Safety Technicians; and Jos\u00e9 Blas Valero Meg\u00edas, Vice-President of the National Confederation of Driving Schools.<\/p>\n
Apart from six panels, the Congress offered workshops on Road Education for children and Road Safety for adults, a \u201cRoad Show\u201d for youngsters, driving demonstrations, and examples of airbag performance.<\/p>\n
