Presentation of Provincial Plans for Child Road Safety
Throughout the week we participated in the presentation of the Provincial Child Road Safety Plans of the provinces of San Juan, Mendoza, Tierra del Fuego, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, Catamarca and Santa Fe.
Since the beginning of 2020, we started to work together with the National Road Safety Agency of Argentina in the development of Provincial Road Safety Plans. For the development of these plans, it was essential that the work teams of each selected province felt it as their own. For this reason, instead of “handing over” the plans, we worked on the joint development approach.
To this end, we began a series of technical trainings on child road safety, in order to understand why it is important to develop specific road safety plans for this type of road users. But at the same time, thanks to the support of the company Xternum, training was generated for the development of the strategy of the plans.
This week, after several months of intense work, the work teams of the provinces of San Juan, Mendoza, Tierra del Fuego, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, Catamarca and Santa Fe, presented their provincial plans for child road safety. These plans include the context and current accident rates, and what should be the main actions to be taken to improve them significantly.
With the implementation of these provincial plans, we are making further progress towards the realization of a national child road safety plan in Argentina.
